It was the most fabulous experience. From start to finish. The taxi driver Yosi walked to meet me as I was staying down a dark and unlit alley in Ubud at the 2.50am start. The journey was comfortable to the starting point where we met with the incredible guide by the name of Wi. Wi bought head torches for our use and carefully guided me towards the boat. Staring up at the stars was inspiring. After tying to boat up we started the steady but uphill ascent of the mountain. WI was always there to lend a hand and advise which parts of the path needed careful navigating. Reaching the summit I was treated to lovely ginger tea, fruit, a chocolate bar and Nutella sandwiches. I really needed these! The clouds magically started to disappear and as the sun rose I got some amazing photos and Wi proved a master at photography! The descent was slower as slippery due to the rain...but I had brought my walking pole ( a stick will suffice) and this helped tremendously. With an ever helpful hand from Wi I was led safely down the path learning about some of the fauna on the way. Back on the boat I was shown the Lady of the Lake goddess and the fish farm then proceeded back towards the shore and the taxi waiting patiently to take me back into Ubud. Friends and relatives all were amazed at the photos and I will have some printed on canvas as a lasting memory. It is rare to find a trip where one feels so very welcome..not just a paying tourist. I wish all concerned the very best for 2026 and thank you all for really making the experience one to cherish.

I had a fabulous experience on this trip to Mt Batur Caldera and Lake boat ride with Nawa... he was a great guide and has a true passion for hiking as well as the local area. As for the hike, it was just enough of a challenge to break out a sweat but i was glad i did this one vs the full one up Mt Batu as i loved that there was only 6 of us and 2 guides to accomodate each others paces, as well as help me in the tricky bits. Booking was a breeze with Justin being super responsive to my questions, even before i booked. Yosi, my driver was really friendly and communicated well before the trip. A really great team!

The tour was great and the guide (Wi) and the driver (Yosi) too but I find it a bit expensive for what it is. I booked as a solo traveler and it's quite expensive although I'm happy that this is ethical economy. The morning was glorious starting with the boat ride and then the little hike and a local breakfast with the best views. We got lucky with the weather and could see perfectly clear the 3 peaks and Lambok island. The service and communication with the host was fantastic! Quick and clear. I'd do it again but with 3 or more friends :)

Wowww! That was one of the coolest most natural hikes we’ve ever done!! Such a full fun adventure, and our guides Yosi and Wii were so awesome- so sweet, and such great photographers! 😆😆 Highly recommend the natural hot springs after! When we reached the peak for sunrise, a local woman who lives on the mountain brought sandwiches and tea for us, and our friend even got to drive the boat back across the lake! What a beautiful, incredible experience. We all really loved this day 🙏🏼

It was a very well oiled trip! We met our lovely driver Rantini who drove us to the village surrounding Mount Batur - she drove very safely and made us feel very comfortable! (Especially in the dark and windy roads!) We then met our fabulous guide Ageng - he was very knowledgable and got us up and down safely! He also taught us information about the local village and family life which was a lovely touch! He provided information as we went and offered lots of support and stops as required! He made us a hot drink and breakfast at the top and was an excellent photographer! The trip to the coffee plantation was great and a nice opportunity to try local teas and coffees! Thank you all to who made it possible :)
