Explore Batur on ATVs! 🔥
Perhaps you have already climbed Mount Batur and looking for a different way to experience this majestic volcano? We have created an experience that will allow you to explore Batur with an ATV! Riding around the vast black volcanic sand field will give you a new perspective on Mt Batur and its power. Keep in mind this other-worldly landscape was created during the last eruption in the year 2000!What to ExpectStart You will need to be at the starting location at around 8am. From there you will get assigned an ATV and our guide will provide you with safety instructions and a helmet. These ATVs are also semi-automatic, making it quite easy to operate, even for a complete newbie. The Landscape Once you are comfortable on the ATV you will get on the way. Before you arrive at the lava field, you will pass by local villages getting to see farm lands where locals plant various vegetables such as tomatoes and onions. You will arrive at an expensive lava field, where the black sand landscape seemingly goes on forever. This is a truly impressive and otherworldly sight - a true testament to Mt Batur's ferocious power. Wrap Up After a few hours, giving you enough time to soak up the views and get all the best photos, you will head back to the starting point.

Meet your host
Jero grew up farming with his family in the shadow of Mount Batur, but the volcano always called to him. He and his cousins would spend hours exploring its slopes. Now, he shares that love with visitors, leading his team of local experts (some of those same cousins!). This is a story of passion, community, and how tourism can truly uplift local lives.
