12 Family-Friendly Yacht Trips for the Perfect Day Out
Hi! Welcome to Seek Sophie
We're obsessed with finding the best local guides and experiences. We only recommend what we love and hope you love them too.

If you're looking for a really special family day out that both kids and adults would love, a yacht daycation (or staycation!) is IT.

Head out on your own private yacht out for a day of water activities, fun at the Southern Islands and BBQ on the yacht! If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you can even do a yacht staycay where you watch a movie under the stars, and enjoy a beach campfire!

Want more? Check out all our handpicked yacht experiences here.

1

Superb Value Yacht With Amazing Crew

Mare Mio is one of the most popular yachts - just look at the rave reviews! Mare Mio is not the fanciest yacht (it's cosy and doesn't have AC), but it makes up for that by having the most amazing crew, with a ton of heart, PLUS it's the most amazing value-for-money.

We would highly recommend this for a family day out, or you can bring your best family friends along too! Try your hand at fishing and there's an electric grill onboard to cook your catch. Bonus: It's pet-friendly so your furbaby is very welcome! 🐶

2

Glam Catamaran For The Ultimate Treat

If you want to treat yourself and feel like you're on a jaunt in the Greek islands, take this Sailing Catamaran out to the Southern Islands. We love lounging on the deck nets, and particularly love that complimentary BBQ services are available. So get your favourite food from Huber's, and get the crew to fire it up! Lots of watersports gear like kayaks and paddleboards will keep the kids happy while the adults enjoy the day out. 🍷

3

Sunrise Cruise with Breakfast & Heartfelt Crew

This cozy yacht is run by an amazing crew that wants nothing more than to make your day super special. It's not huge but it's perfect for a family, and there's enough room on the deck to lounge in the sun. Top tip: if you're an early riser, try their 4-hour sunrise cruise to enjoy spectacular views over the water while you enjoy the complimentary breakfast.  🍲

4

Yacht with lots of Water Activities

Zen Sea is the yacht to go for if you want lots of water activities, so you don't need to choose. It's super affordable, has ample room to move about and our favourite thing? It has a wide range of fun water activities like snorkeling gear, floats, fishing rods, a paddleboard, and a kayak to keep the active adults and kids happy!

5

Learn Paddleboarding In This Adventurous Staycay

This is for families who are up for an adventure! On this authentic traditional junk boat, you'll not only get private paddleboarding lessons at the Southern Islands, you'll also get to enjoy a beach campfire at night, or have a movie night under the stars. Even if you're a complete newbie to paddleboarding, the team of experienced SUP instructors from Island SUP will have you up and paddling in no time. 💪 Bonus: It's also pet-friendly!

6

Good-value Modern Yacht

The Tarara is a pretty new, good-value modern yacht that isn't huge but has plenty of space for a family. This yacht sails to the Southern Islands and anchors at Eagle Bay in St John’s Island, where you can float, go fishing (rods and bait are included), or simply relax and enjoy being on the water amidst beautiful views. We especially love lounging on the the watermat, so be sure to try it!

7

Sail Away on on Elegant Catamaran

This is one of our favourite yachts and a real treat to be on. One of our favourite things about the Waga Mari is her billowing sails. We love lying on her huge deck nets, with the massive sails gently billowing in the wind above us, feeling our cares melt away. Top tip: Captain Martjin is an amazing cook - so do bring your favourite cuts of meat for him to BBQ on board.

Ps: If 4 hours isn't enough, Waga Mari also has a staycay option for the ultimate treat 🥰

8

Discover Secret Fishing Spots on this Yacht

If fishing is your thing, Ocean Blue is the way to go. 🐟 With a knowledgeable, experienced crew that knows all the secret spots, this fishing charter is equipped with loads of fishing equipment, a complete kitchenette, and a comfy cabin. There is no corkage charge, and for an additional fee, you can also rent a BBQ pit and grill your freshly-caught fish on Lazarus Island.

9

Learn To Fish with Pros on a Staycay

If 4 hours of fishing isn't enough for you, you can learn fishing overnight on this glam catamaran! The crew of Synergy, a spacious catamaran, is made up of passionate fishing instructors that will happily teach you how to catch your dinner. After a day of fishing and other watersports around the Southern Islands, BBQ your fresh catch for dinner. Then, hit the karaoke system for the night, or go for a night paddle.

10

Get IG-worthy shots on this Great-Value Catamaran

White Sails is one of the most popular yachts, for good reason. It's not the fanciest catamaran, but it's a catamaran no less - with IG-worthy deck nets and at a more affordable price point. Lounge on the beautiful deck nets on the way to Lazarus Island or hit the karaoke machine while sailing. Fish, kayak, or snorkel when docked at Lazarus, or snap away at the many photo opportunities you’ll have on this IG-worthy yacht!

11

Spacious Glam Catamaran for a Treat Day Out

If you're looking to treat yourself, then head onto the SY Dakota - one of the more spacious and modern catamaran yachts! This is perfect if you're going with a few families and you want lots of space to lounge about.

You'll also get a ton of really fun complimentary water toys to enjoy! Including a standup paddleboard, fishing rods, floating water mat, floating bean bags 😍, a kayak and a sea scooter where you and your kids can zip around in the water like a dolphin!

12

Learn to Sail!

More than just a chilled day out at sea, this is an epic 5-hour private sailing trip where you can learn to sail as a family! Here you'll get the chance to learn sailing from a veteran sailor who has been sailing since the late 1960s on a 40+ footer Keelboat. Discover the sensation of being out on the water, wind filling the sails, harnessing the power of nature and relying on your skills and expertise to steer the boat.
