We were lucky enough to spot a mouse deer in the forest, endemic snails, frogs and toads and even a colugo! It felt like a real adventure, trekking through the rainforest by torchlight, even though we were on an easy pathway the whole time.
At the zoo the next day we saw mouse deer up close but it wasn’t as magical as watching the tiny specks of torchlight reflect off the eyes in the distance of a wild one in it’s natural habitat.
