The guide Hidayah was on time at the meeting point. She was warm, welcoming and gave us a run down of the duration of each part of the kayaking journey. As we waked along the track and lookout hill or kayaked along the mangroves she provided us info about plants, history of the area, the ferries, lunch options on the island and on mainland etc. If there are 2 people in a Kayak, there’s only room suitable to bring a small dog. If you have a medium dog then we suggest having only 1 person in the rear doing the rowing and dog sits in the front. Our experience was great. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Super cosy and homey vibes! Good mix of local families, young couples and tourist within group! :)

We chose the morning slot on a Friday morning and it was really cooling and chill. Was taken to a kelong via a bumboat (the views of the sea and the wind was amazing), then took off on our Kayak to the mangroves. The double-seated kayaks took some time to get used to, but our guide Yan was knowledgeable and helpful. The way there and inside the mangroves felt like something you would see in a nature documentary. There were many interesting sights like monitor lizards, even a snake molt, fiddler crabs, mudskippers. We kayaked probably around 60 min and dropped off by a muddy shore and walked to Ubin town for a short tour. Thereafter we kayaked back to the kelong (40min) to make a Paracord which was fun and useful at the same time. The best part of our tour was the chat with our guide Yan. He was friendly, forthcoming and shared a lot of interesting insights about Ubin and Kelong. We never learnt so much about Kelongs before and it was very, very interesting. Yan also showed us Kelong fishes and picked out giant mussels from blue barrels under them. We've never known that mussels could be this big. Overall, highly recommended for a chill, nature-filled, insightful day out. However, take note that there is a small part you can get foot-deep into the mud when getting onto and out of the kayak.
