This was such a highlight! We are travelling with our kids (7,3, and 1) and we weren’t sure whether we could make this work. We chose it instead of Mt Batur to be a bit calmer and it was so perfect! Our driver Yosi was wonderful and arrived on time, and gave us lots of info and recommendations, and took us to the Geopark museum too on the way home (highly recommend!). Our guide Wi was informative and helpful and great with our kids. The hike itself is not easy, we hike a fair bit but found it medium level challenging carrying the kids up 300m in 45min. But it was so worth it! And our 7 year old did it easily. Breakfast was brought from the local village and was simple and delicious. 100% recommend.

The views were gorgeous and it is great that there were few tourists. Our guide Nawa was also fantastic at taking pictures and videos. We also enjoyed the stop at the coffee plantation. In all a very nice trip.

The perfect hike. 8 year girl came. Fine for patient and fit kids — club swimmer ; as well as anyone with moderate sports background — middle aged female distance runner. 45 minutes straight up on uneven ground that required minimal clambering up and down muddy rocks. But very doable. The perfect trip. So beautiful and isolated. Totally had the village and path to ourselves. Bali how it used to be. No one knows about this route. I’m afraid the secret will soon get out. Our guide Wi and our driver Justin were open , safe, and patient. The boat ride across the volcanic lake in the dead of night is a highlight. It’s all very mysterious.

This was a wonderful experience despite the fact that we didn’t get a clear view from the top. Communication was clear and timely. The driver arrived on time and was confident on the winding roads. I’m a pretty remedial walker, but still managed to get up to the top because of WI’s constant encouragement. At points he just pulled me up the slope! If you are in a similar position, then let the team know when booking at they will ensure adequate time. I took the add on of visiting the Gao Raja waterfall. Beautiful and very quiet. Would highly recommend.
