This tour was great! I became sick the night before the tour started, and Justin and his team were extremely flexible and allowed me time to recover while still providing a great experience. Thank you so much!!

We had a great time in Nusa Penida on this tour. All our drivers and tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the seaweed farm, it was a real highlight. Even though we got caught in a very heavy storm on the second day (travelling in rainy season!) everyone made sure we were looked after as well as possible. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing two days in Nusa Penida with Seek Sophie. All the details were arranged perfectly and the itinerary was well thought out for a mix of down time and activity. I unfortunately got injured almost immediately after stepping off the ferry by twisting my ankle (🤦‍♀️) and my guide was very patient and stopped for some medication for me at a local pharmacy. I vowed to now let my bad ankle stop me though and we explored both east and west sides of the island on different days. My favorite was actually the treehouse on the east and although I had to wait a crazy long time for pictures, the results were pretty epic. Diamond Beach was also a standout. Another plus to staying overnight was you get to TRex beach before all the day trippers. It was wonderful! I also enjoyed having a local experience at a seaweed farm although it wasn’t the right time of year to see the farming itself (I visited in early September). I also really appreciated that the guide was a local man who grew up on the island. Plus he was an absolute killer photographer and put up with all my shenanigans as a solo traveler. Overall, the trip was amazing and I would recommend anyone booking with this amazing company!

Sightseeing Tours in Bali FAQs

What are some lesser-known sightseeing spots in Bali for avid photographers?

For photography enthusiasts seeking off-the-beaten-path locations in Bali, consider exploring the secret waterfalls of Sekumpul or the hidden rice terraces of Jatiluwih before dawn for soft morning light. The abandoned Peguyangan Waterfall Cliff Walk offers dramatic coastal scenery, while the serene mood of the Tukad Cepung Waterfall, hidden inside a cave, provides unique photo opportunities. Remember to visit early to avoid crowds and bring plenty of memory cards and a tripod for capturing intricate details and atmospheric shots.

How can I experience authentic Balinese culture during my sightseeing tours?

To immerse yourself in authentic Balinese culture, choose guided tours that include visits to local villages such as Bangli or Tenganan, where traditional crafts and rituals are still practised. Attend a family-led temple ceremony or a traditional dance performance, ideally organised with local hosts who share insights into daily life and customs. Tip: dress respectfully, and bring a small donation or gift if invited into a local home, which is appreciated and fosters genuine cultural exchange.

Are there any eco-friendly or sustainable sightseeing options in Bali?

Yes, Bali offers several eco-conscious options for travellers keen on sustainability. Consider guided eco-tours that focus on conservation efforts at places like the Bali Eco Cycling Tour, which includes visiting organic farms and reforestation projects. Opt for private or small-group tours to minimise environmental impact. Support local community initiatives by choosing tours that promote cultural preservation and environmental awareness, and always carry refillable water bottles and reusable bags to reduce plastic waste during your excursions.

What tips do you have for capturing the best photographs during Bali sightseeing tours?

To get stunning photographs, plan your visits around the golden hours of sunrise and sunset when the light is warm and atmospheric. Use a wide-angle lens to capture sweeping landscapes and a polarising filter to enhance colours and reduce glare. Incorporate local life and cultural elements — like temple rituals, traditional performers, or bustling markets — to add depth to your shots. Keep your camera steady, experiment with different angles, and respect local customs and people when photographing them, asking permission when appropriate.

Are guided sightseeing tours flexible enough to include personalised interests like photography or local experiences?

Many specialised tour operators in Bali offer customised experiences tailored to photographers and cultural enthusiasts. When booking, communicate your interests clearly — whether it’s capturing specific landmarks at dawn, visiting hidden temples, or participating in local crafts. Opt for private or small-group tours that allow greater flexibility, enabling you to spend more time at desired locations and receive insider tips from guides who are knowledgeable about photography spots and cultural nuances. Remember to discuss your itinerary in advance to maximise your Bali sightseeing experience.
