We started a bit put off by the lack of welcome, as if we were not expected. We were a group of 5 and only one other person had booked at the same time, so one would think they’d recognize a group of 5 showing up at the exact time of the workshop at this location that is a bit out of the way. We weren’t let in until I showed proof of reservation. We were given written instructions but no verbal explanation on the process. We had to do as we were told, the best we could. In the end, we were the very junior apprentices doing some of the easiest tasks, which we didn’t mind, and our pieces turned out amazing! For sure there’s a bit of the IKEA syndrome involved, but still. Selecting a jewel design and contributing to its fabrication is fun and satisfying and it wouldn’t be possible without the skilled jewelers doing most of the work. They also looked like they took pride in the work they had done for us. We had a great family activity and made nice souvenirs. Thank you!

I love the piece I made. The teachers were friendly and even allowed me to incorporate a gemstone when usually that is too difficult for a beginner to do. My teacher helped me a lot and really brought my design to life. The warung is also lovely. You get to eat your food with a view of the river and suspension bridge. Overall it was a really cool experience and the location was just gorgeous.

Experience was great, our guide wee was great. We had a private tour, no other people besides us. Ascend was steep but lovely, we hiked fast. We had a great view of Batur, Agung, Batang and the beautiful lake. Also the boat ride was great

If you're an off-the-beaten paths kind of traveler, this would likely be perfect for you. While the weather wasn't on our side because it's rainy season in Bali, the boat ride and hike were still enjoyable as there wasn't a crowd, and we had the chance to see the view from the top – lucky us, it did not rain. Guides were helpful, educational, and everything from pickup to dropoff was smooth. Would try this again another time of the year!
