Contact us for more information. This is a 4 hour private kayaking trip to the Pulau Ubin Mangroves, with a short viewpoint hike and a chance to see local kelongs. Suitable for children from 4+, and is pet-friendly too (so long as your pet can fit in the kayak)! Option Highlights✅ Private kayak guide ✅ Gorgeous mangrove views to get upclose to nature ✅ Rare chance to see local kelongs from upclose (floating fish farms)Option DetailsSpecially designed for all adventure seekers, this private kayaking trip is the perfect introduction to the Pulau Ubin mangroves! In this beginner-friendly kayaking trip, you and your group of besties will cover 4-5 km under the guidance of an experienced instructor. On the way back, visit the local Kampung houses to sneak a peek at the lives of the past generations. You will also stop by a local Kelong and get to buy fresh fish if you like! Please Note: SerendipET provides open double kayaks, and has a limited number of single kayaks which are used only in the event there is an odd number of participants. Due to the nature of this activity, it's almost 100% chance you will get wet (including your trousers and shoes!). Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting wet. Child-FriendlyThis experience is suitable for children from the age of 4 and up, provided they know how to swim. Child life jackets will be provided. Pet-Friendly You can bring your pets on the kayak with you. Please do let us know when you book if you intend to bring your pet. Depending on the size of your pet (ie whether you’re ok squeezing with it on a kayak), you can have two dogs on a two person kayak. We have had customers bring their dog around 20kg on the kayak before - the general rule of thumb is that if you don’t mind squeezing with your dog on the kayak, it’s ok with SerendipET. Note: when bringing your pet across from Changi Ferry Terminal to Pulau Ubin Jetty, you must have your pet in a carrier while onboard the bumboat. Otherwise you may be denied permission to enter or be required to charter the entire bumboat rather than pay the usual per person fee.

Our guides were knowledgeable and had an air of fun even though it may be their upteempth time kayaking through the mangroves. Local information like the history behind location names and how environmental issues are tackled added more insights to just an activity. Enjoyed gliding through the meandering mangroves riverine system and getting close to the elements very much! If there is one thing to improve, we think it may be nice to include more kayaking time to explore one more smaller area. 🙂

Tines was warm and friendly, made the effort to connect with my kids and clear guidance was given throughout the trip. Jeff was very helpful and attentive too. Both were patient. Kids reminded me to thank the guides after we had to leave in a rush, which speaks volume of how much they appreciated their help and company.

Hello Markus, Thank you for your questions. The tour starts from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Q
We are a group of 6 interested in the private Mangrove Kayaking on 2 Apr (Fri). May I understand what the tide will be like? I heard that the Mangrove Kayaking experience is dependent on the tide and right now we are towards the end of the season. Can you advise what the experience would be like (ie. limited rivers/trails due to low ride, etc.)? Look forward to your response. Cheers, Sharon
A
Hi Sharon, Thank you for your questions, The tides change every day, and for the 2nd of April will be rising from 8.30 am. Which would be around the time to start the expedition. This means that as you are entering the mangroves, the current will be going inwards towards the island. And as you are heading out, the current may be going against you. However, this wouldn’t affect the kayak activity as the currents in the mangroves are very minimal due to how the mangroves are structured. You can expect things to get a little bit muddy on the way up to Puaka Hill. Rest assured, the kayaking experience will not be affected at all
Q
What should I pack?
A
Change of clothes after kayaking
Closed toe shoes
Hat
Insect repellent
Long sleeve shirt and trousers
Money (if you wish to buy live fishes from Kelong and buy some snacks)
Personal medication
Sunblock
Tug boat transfer cash ($4/pax)
Water-bottle
Waterproof Bag
