Specially designed for all adventure seekers, this kayaking trip is the perfect introduction to the Pulau Ubin mangroves (no kayaking experience required)! Option Highlights ✅Cover 4-5km kayaking along Pulau Ubin under the guidance of experienced instructors ✅Hike up Puaka Hill, the highest point of Ubin (only 76m!) ✅Rare Kelong Visit! Kayak to a kelong and purchase fresh seafood if you'd like! More Details This option is one of the most comprehensive out there. Apart from just kayaking, you will get to hike up Puaka Hill to enjoy the sight of Malaysia just across the border and get a glimpse of the beautiful Granite Quarry! Its blue waters and lush greeneries are reminiscent of lakes in New Zealand (the best we can get to travelling these days!) On the way back, visit the local Kampung houses to sneak a peek at the lives of the past generations. We will also make a trip to a local kelong and get to buy fresh fish if you'd like! The kelong visit is often the highlight for many locals as it provides a rare glimpse into the life of local fishermen. Recommended Attire Come in an attire that is suitable for water activities, we recommend long sleeves & long tights to protect you from the sun! Do also wear covered shoes or sandals (no slippers allowed).

I've been exploring different parts of Singapore every week during this Covid-19 year, and my kayaking trip with SerendipET was of the best experiences I've had in Singapore yet. Our guides Tines and Cherie were incredibly warm and heartfelt, and super passionate about what they do. They encouraged us to pick up ocean litter while we kayaked, which was great because it felt like we were giving back to the environment while we were having fun. We especially loved that they knew lots of stories of the local community and wildlife at Ubin which really made the area come alive for us. Even though we had been to Ubin multiple times before, we saw it in a new light on this trip. The mangrove kayaking was also super fun. The pace was just right - it felt like we saw a lot but also at a pace at which we could really soak in the beautiful surrounds. The hike at Ubin was short, but very rewarding. It's one of the few hikes where the view really looks exactly as it does in pictures - super instagrammable! Finally, the trip to the Kelong really made me feel like I was travelling. There we got to meet really friendly local fish farmers we wouldn't otherwise have met, and it was just a really authentic and cool off-grid local experience. Bonus: we also got two lobsters from the Kelong which were super fresh - and Cherie gave us lots of tips on how to cook them!

Helpful Questions from Other Travellers

Q
Hi, I am interested in the pulau Rubin kayak mangrove tour for my family. Can kids aged 5-7 join? My husband and I could take one of them in each kayak. Let me know if it's possible.
A
Hi Camila! Thank you for your questions. Yess! Your kids can join as long as they are comfortable :)
Q
Hi can I use my tourism voucher?
A
Unfortunately we are not able to accept the Singapore Tourism Board vouchers.
Q
What time do I need to be at Changi Point Ferry Terminal in order to reach Pulau Ubin at the meeting time?
A
The bumboats operate non-stop so you don't need to wait very long for one. We would advise being at Changi jetty about 20-25 mins before the meeting time at Pulau Ubin (allowing 10-15 mins max for waiting time, 10 mins for the bum boat ride)
Q
What happens in case of rain? Will I get a refund?
A
If it is a slight drizzle, the trip will go ahead as planned. However if there is heavy rain, the trip will be cancelled. At that point, you can choose to reschedule or receive a refund. The final decision is up to the guide. Usually they will inform you in the morning of the day of the trip.
Q
What should I pack?
A
Change of clothes after kayaking
Hat
Insect repellent
Money (if you wish to buy live fishes from Kelong)
Personal medication
Snacks
Sunblock
Water-bottle 1,5 L
Waterproof Bag
