Meet your host
My name is Dhruv, I'm a former professional chef and am dead serious about having fun in the kitchen. Cooking is all about experimentation and simply having a good time. I’ve been cooking since I was 8 and continue to learn something new in the kitchen every single day. I've cooked in several countries around the world—Jordan, Tanzania, North Korea—and believe that food is the greatest unifier there is. I started my career as a chef in the hotel industry, but life had other plans and I somehow found myself working in tech. My love for food prevailed and today, I juggle a corporate career alongside multiple Food and Beverage projects. Probably, my favourite Food and Beverage projects are my cooking classes. They are a combination of private dining and learning, and have a singular focus on customer delight. I've been writing a light-hearted food blog for 15+ years now and teach people how to produce Indian food that’s simple to cook and absolutely delicious. Everyone who’s tried my recipes has survived to tell the tale! I also care a lot about the environment and try to minimise the use of plastic on all my experiences. All the vegetable waste from our kitchen and cooking classes is composted and used to nourish our garden. We're passionate about animals and live with two rescue dogs adopted from shelters in Singapore.
