50% of profits from this experience will be donated to Ukrainian aid efforts via @projecthopeorg, a humanitarian organisation that provides medical supplies and assistance to refugees in Ukraine. Known as the “breadbasket” of Europe, Ukrainian cuisine descends from ancient rustic dishes based on grain such as rye, as well as staple vegetables such as potato, mushrooms and beetroots. Unlike more ostentatious cuisines in Western Europe, Ukrainian food is very much rooted in its people and the land - think hearty beef and meat stews, delicious stuffed dumplings, soothing soups and warm bread. We hope to bring you a taste of Ukraine as we remember its people who now struggle to surmount these troubling times. Featured Dishes 1. Borscht (Ukrainian beetroot soup) 2. Guliash (Ukrainian beef stew) 3. Varenyky (Mushroom and sauerkraut dumplings) 4. Holubtsi (Boiled cabbage stuffed with meat and rice) 5. Mizeria (Cucumber sour cream salad) 6. Ukrainian cheese platter (Assortment of cheeses, fruits and Ukrainian bread)*The menu may vary slightly based on market produce.About your hostPrimateve's cooking is partly inspired by the host's far-flung and off-the-grid adventures to places like Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar and Afghanistan. During the meal, they'll be more than happy to share the history behind the food they create, how it's prepared and the stories behind them.Holland Village is a beautiful bohemian neighbourhood and offers some small trails and green spaces where wild edible greens can be found. The local Singapore home where you will be dining also embodies this vibe - it's a collage of memories, spaces and curios from around the world.
