Review Body: I stayed at Benarat Lodge (simple but complete with basic facilities (with hot shower, towels, shampoo & soap, air-con room, there’s a mini restaurant too) yet beautiful place, surrounded with nature, mountains, near the river & quiet) & I was surprised & amazed by the hospitality & warm welcome from Mr. Anil and his team, they provided transportation from and to Mulu Airport & other destinations, 3 meals with scrumptious meals, very detailed briefing from Mr. Anil in regards of my itinerary or plans & he also occasionally will check on me if I’m ok since I’m on solo trip. Mr.Anil & his team also very prompt if I have any queries or help throughout my stay & the trip. Mr. Lukars was my tour guide & he’s also very informative & being proactively shared with me a lot of very interesting facts during my tour to different caves in Mulu National Park, the Penan village, etc. He even personally prepared meals for me & other team members during our stay at Camp 5 & even being patience & supportive in guiding me during my climb to Mulu Pinnacles since I fear of height 😅. He even proactively in helping me to take photos and videos for my memories throughout the trip. He’s awesome. The boat riding was the most enjoyable experience that I ever had, especially when I had the whole boat to myself 😆with my tour guide, embracing the nature & the cool breeze. I was really amazed by the handicrafts by the Penan tribe that I was torn between so many beautiful & unique handicrafts when I shopped for souvenirs (please support their business 🥹, it’s really beautiful). I’m really thankful as I was able to view the Bat Exodus (by waiting patiently almost 2 hours plus) although the weather was not very favourable, guess it’s a good luck. Another fun part was to swim in the cool, refreshing & clean big river near Camp 5 (A MUST). Of course not to forget the climb to Mulu Pinnacles, it’s more challenging than Mount Kinabalu yet worth the climb (better trained yourself before the climb). Personally me myself was a local from Sarawak & have been working in Singapore for many years & actually being to Mulu was my first time & I also have been wanted to come here for the Mulu Pinnacles & I came across Seek Sophie for this package & hence booked it as a solo retreat trip. It was really beyond my expectations & I really had my best time here, not just from the hospitality by the people that welcoming me but also the experiences that I had, the opportunities to witness the beauty of the Mother Nature that have been well preserved & the unique culture & life of the people here. Throughout the trip, it brought me back to my childhood days or days before I moved to Singapore where I used to stay at my grandparents’ kampung (they’re of Sarawak Bidayuh tribe), living the life of kampung, spending time with my grandparents, learning about the cultures of my grandparents’ tribe, following them to their vegetation plantation or orchards on the mountains, where walking through the forests, climbing the mountains, swimming in the cool, refreshing clean river were something that familiar & close to my heart & it were my favourite adventures & this is where I find healing, especially after being in the the busy city for quite some time. As a Sarawakian myself, I want to thank Seek Sophie for supporting this small local business in this way as well as for introducing my home country to the world❤️. Thank you for making my first solo adventure trip fun, meaningful & memorable✨. Definitely will come again next time😌

Review Body: Great trip and really well organised, couldn't ask for more! From our pick up at the airport, Anil, told us everything we needed and made sure we got checked in before telling us about timings for that days activities. Anil was there to meet us and introduce us yo our guide, Lucas, for the afternoon activities to see the caves and bat exodous. Lucas was a fantastic guide and vwry informative about the caves and wildlife. The following morning, Anil & Lucas met us after breakfast to start the trip to camp 5 and the pinnacles. Lucas took us on the boat ride to wind and clearwater caves, again, he was fantatstic with explanations and making sure everyone was looked after. Once at camp 5 we had 2 new guides, Remy & Filipe, for the stay there and the hike to the pinnacles. Both were excellent and took care of all our needs. Most importantly, when it came to briefings for the hike they were very safety focused and explained everything in great detail. On the hike they were amazing and made sure everyone was safe (as safe as is possible on this type of hike, which is a dangerous hike!). Overall we have zero complaints and only praise for all the guides and everyone involved in the trip from booking to when we left at the airport. We are already looking at other trips we can do with Seek Sophie & Tropical Tours

Review Body: Was great from start to finish. Kai our guide picked us up from the airport and was brilliant. He went above and beyond in making sure we had a great trip. We were able to see all of the caves and the bat exodus was a personal highlight. The pinnacle climb was very challenging but very rewarding. The only problem I have with this experience is that the Seek Sophie website does not stress the difficulty enough. The pinnacles climb is a high risk activity and a very challenging climb even for advanced hikers. Please research more into the climb before you book this tour, as I feel the level of risk is not clearly stated in this advertisment. The pinnacles should not be advertised as a hike. It is a climb. We also learned that the youngest age to climb the pinnacles is 16. This is not stated on Seek Sophies website. I want to stress that Kai made us feel very safe and that this negative is purely to do with Seek Sophies advertisment for the tour.

Review Body: Khair, my tour guide was amazing, I highly recommend him and the services of Tropical Adventure Tours and Travel. He was so passionate about the local wildlife and was great at pointing out creatures and cave symbols to me, sharing niche local knowledge which made my experience so special. He was always punctual, highly knowledgeable and approachable, kind, highly passionate about his job as an eco-tourism guide and he always respected me and made me feel very safe as a female solo traveller. I visited Mulu and it was my first ever time solo travelling. At first, I was concerned that I was allocated a male tour guide as a female alone on the tour where we would be without reception or phone battery at some points, yet Khair became a very good friend and a highly respectful guide who always steered clear of ever over stepping my boundaries. He cooked amazing food for me and put my care and safety first.

Review Body: The 4 day adventure in Mulu was amazing. First the easy walks through the jungle and the caves gave insights into the nature and wildlife and the caves are simply not from this world! Benarat Lodge was good to get accustomed to the jungle and food was nice. The following days with the pinnacles hike were the real adventure. The hike is very challenging as you need to pay constant attention and you need to use your hands a lot. The descent is especially tough and not exactly fun but overall very rewarding.

Our guide for the whole trip, Filipi was very knowledgable and experienced. He took good care of us and kept our spirits high with his dad jokes 😅. And the food was delicious! Loved the variety of veggies served for our meals. 😋 would highly recommend booking with them.

Tour guide is engaging and professional. The climb to the Mulu Pinnacles is especially rewarding and the view at the top is nothing but spectacular. Review Body: My friend & I have signed up the 4 days 3 nights package for Mulu Pinnacles then only realised that it is tough before we departed. Surprisingly, this trip has ended with stories & laughs despite the sweats & muscles pain. We have joined the big family in the mountain and really enjoyed the simple natural life there. The tour guides are great, friendly & patient. With the tour guide, hike to the peak and descend from the mountain are not as tough as the others mentioned. Trees and stones were our best friends in the mountain. Echo of our chats and laughs surrounded the mountain even in the rain. It is definitely a memorable and excellent trip!

Review Body: Joined the 3D2N Mulu tour. Had a wonderful time - good planning n smooth running. Benarat Lodge staff are friendly. Our Guide Duncan is diligent, helpful n professional. Mr Anil, manager, is friendly n responsible. Meals, which consist of 1soup, 2 Vege, 1meat( fish/ chik) are tastefully cooked. Kudos to the cook. Rooms are clean though basic. The only hiccup- staying at the 2 blocks of rooms underneath/near the fruiting mango tree. During the night, we were shockingly awakened by loud sound when mangoes dropped on the metal roofs. Overall, we enjoyed this trip. Thanks Borneo Tropical Adventure.

Itinerary Summary: Today you'll see the beautiful Lang Cave and Deer Cave, as well as a bat exodus!

Itinerary Description: At 12 pm, meet the guide at Mulu Airport and transfer to the hotel for check-in. After lunch, visit Lang Cave and Deer Cave. The Lang Cave is one of the smaller caves but is beautifully decorated by the formation of the limestone for over thousands of years. The Deer Cave is also the world's largest cave passage at 174 metres wide and 122 metres high, and a must-do at Mulu! In the evening, witness tens of thousands of bats flying overhead Deer Cave where they hunt for insects.

Itinerary Day 2

Itinerary Summary: Today you'll go on a boat and visit Wind Cave, Clearwater Cave and Lady's Cave before settling into Camp 5

Itinerary Description: After breakfast, visit the local Penan tribe at Batu Bungan Penan Settlement before heading to Wind Cave by boat. Then visit the Clearwater Cave, the Lady's Cave and the underground river. The Clearwater cave is Asia's longest cave, measuring 107km and is believed to be the largest interconnected cave system in the world by volume! Lady's Cave is a small section of the Clearwater Cave, with impressive stalagmite and stalactites. After the caves, swim/picnic by Clearwater Spring. After lunch, go by boat beyond Clearwater Cave to Long Lutu. From Long Lutu, take an easy three hours' walk through virgin forest to the bank of the Melinau River and camp overnight at Camp 5.

Itinerary Day 3

Itinerary Summary: You'll hike a steep 2.4 km (in total), and see the stunning Mulu Pinnacles

Itinerary Description: After an early breakfast, steep climb for four hours up Mt Api to a viewpoint overlooking the Pinnacles. From the viewpoint, the Pinnacles look like the tombstone of giants - it's pretty phenomenal. The Mt Api climb is 2.4km in length (1.2km each way) and will take 6-7 hours. Return to Camp 5 for another overnight stay.

Itinerary Day 4

Itinerary Summary: Today you'll head back to Mulu to catch your flight out!

Itinerary Description: Return on foot to Long Lutu and by boat down the Melinau River to Mulu airport at approximately 10 am.
