Explore tide pools with marine expert!
Here's your chance to see the ocean up close, teeming with tiny sea creatures you never knew existed. Led by a passionate marine expert, you'll explore the tide pools that get exposed during low tide, and maybe even gently touch some of the critters. Kids will love it, and adults will feel like kids again! Just remember, these are wild animals, so a little respect goes a long way. What to expectMeet the locals (the underwater kind): Spot sea stars, crabs, maybe even a little octopus!Guided exploration: Your guide knows the best spots and how to be gentle with the creatures.Learn as you go: Discover fascinating facts about marine life and how to protect it.It's not just looking: This is a hands-on (sometimes!) experience for the curious.Leave it better than you found it: Guides are big on conservation, you might even join a beach cleanup.Important Note and FAQs Coastal habitats are fragile and extra precaution should be taken to avoid damaging the ecosystem. Your guide will show you the way. Do note that this is not a tour and some form of participation will be needed to ensure a holistic experience. Come with an adventurous spirit! Here are some commonly asked questions on the experience:"𝙄𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙨?"The animals that are being touched are done so gently and with respect. If animals are not safe to be picked up (e.g. if touching them harms them because of the oil from our fingers), they will not be touched or picked up."𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥𝙨 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢?"The experience takes place on a public beach, and on any given day there are many people there. So it's actually for the better that these guides are there, acting as watchful protectors over the area. Not only do they ensure that the participants are treating the animals with respect, they will also kindly educate the general public if they see that they might be stressing out the animals. The facilitators are well trained in ensuring participants pay attention to where they step and do not mindlessly trample on the animals. In fact, it's actually the litter on the beaches that pose a much bigger threat and disruption to the marine environment, which is why beach clean-ups are important! "Is this really a sustainable way of seeing the marine life?" As with anything to do with sustainability, there is no perfect answer, but on balance we do believe that this is an important way to educate ourselves on how to sustainably interact with marine life. Education is crucial in promoting wildlife and environmental conservation. If none of these educational tours exist, people would not know how to treat the animals. And even if the public had good intentions, they might end up harming the animals even more. So by having these tours, the guides not only educate our young ones and help them foster a greater appreciation for marine life, but also regularly advise people against these and educate on how to treat marine life properly. They don’t collect these animals for aquarium trade nor catch these animals for food. They also conduct regular beach clean-ups, marine ecology lessons and participate in efforts to reduce our impact on the environment. Please be assured that these guides really care for the marine life and will do whatever they can to uphold best practices and support conservation — which education is a powerful tool in doing, and is the primary goal of these tours.

Dennis and his team of nature nerds are all about getting you hands-on with the wild side of Singapore. They started out just exploring for fun, but their passion for everything from tidepool critters to frogs calls became contagious. Now, they're on a mission to share their love of the outdoors and help you connect with the amazing nature hidden in plain sight. Plus, they and their marine biologist friends regularly organize beach cleanups, making them even cooler in our book.

Hi, I’m visiting Singapore for Christmas, and am interested in joining one of your tours during my trip. However, if it’s raining prior to the tour, and I can’t find an alternative date for during my trip, would I get a refund? Thanks!
Natalie, 08 Dec 2023
Hi Natalie, thank you for your inquiry! I have checked with our host, and they have confirmed that if it's raining and an alternative date cannot be found during your trip, a refund is possible. I hope this is helpful :)
Will disposable shoe covers be provided?
Jasmine , 26 Nov 2022
Hi Jasmine,
Unfortunately disposable shoe covers wont be provided. We'd suggest you to wear covered shoes and bring fresh footwear to change out after.
Hope it helps
