One-of-a-kind Mt Bromo trip, with views from 3 unique viewpoints.
If you’re someone who loves adventure and wants to see Mount Bromo differently, this trip is for you. Most people just climb the stairs at Bromo with the crowds, but this experience is for those who prefer hiking and discovering quieter spots. In addition to the usual Bromo sunrise, you’ll hike 45 minutes to the hidden Argo Wulan viewpoint for a peaceful sunrise, and take an hour-long trek to Mount Batok’s rugged trails, which offer stunning views of Mount Bromo’s crater. This itinerary isn’t offered by other travel companies, making it perfect for those craving something different! What to ExpectSee Mt Bromo from 3 unique perspectives: the usual Mt Bromo sunrise trip, an hike up Argo Wulan with views of Bromo, and a hike up Mt Batok the neighbouring mountain to Bromo. Exclusive Sunrise at Argo Wulan: Watch the spectacular sunrise from a quiet viewpoint, offering unobstructed views of Mount Bromo and Mount Batok, away from the crowds.Trek to Argo Wulan: Enjoy a 45-minute trek to reach the viewpoint, walking through beautiful natural landscapes as you ascend to 2,600 meters above sea level.Hike to Mount Batok: After sunrise, hike for about an hour to the summit of Mount Batok to get close-up views of the Bromo crater and the surrounding volcanic terrain.Stunning Panoramic Views: From both Argo Wulan and Mount Batok, take in sweeping views of the entire volcanic landscape, including the famous Bromo crater and its active volcanic activity.Secluded and Peaceful Experience: Argo Wulan offers a serene escape from the busy tourist spots, providing a peaceful environment to enjoy the natural beauty of Mount Bromo.About Mount BatokMount Batok is the volcano right next to Mount Bromo, and it’s a bit of an underdog. Hiking up Batok is a great way to get closer to Bromo’s crater and see the volcanic landscape from a whole new angle. The trek takes about an hour up and another hour down. It’s steep, but the views at the top make it totally worth it.Trail Difficulty: Moderate. The hike involves steep, uneven terrain and takes about 1 hour to ascend. Descending takes approximately 1 hour as well.About Argo WulanArgo Wulan is a hidden gem that most visitors to Bromo miss. It’s a 45-minute hike to a peaceful viewpoint at 2,600 meters above sea level. The trail is quiet and scenic, and at sunrise, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and the misty volcanic plains—all without the usual crowds.TipsLunch and dinner are not included, your guide will take you to the local restaurant and you can pay cash there.Fitness Level: Moderate fitness is required for this hike, especially for Mount Batok’s steeper sections.Horse riding is available near Mount Bromo but is at your own expense (about IDR 200,000)At Bromo please bring a face mask to avoid inhaling ash or getting it in your eyes.Clothing: Dress in layers. Mornings are cold, but you’ll warm up as you hike.Gear: Bring a flashlight or headlamp for pre-dawn hikes, a camera for capturing stunning views, and a small daypack to carry essentials.Weather: Be prepared for unpredictable weather, especially during sunrise. Rain gear might be necessary.Additional NotesIf you arrive before 11.00 AM, visit Madakaripura waterfalls on route to mount Bromo is optional with additional cost.A motorbike taxi from Mount Penanjakan to Argo Wulan is available for around IDR 100,000-150,000, providing a faster alternative to walkingCemoro Lawang can be pretty chilly before sunrise since they’re 2,329 meters (7,641 ft) above sea level, the elevation at the viewpoint is a whopping 2,770 meters (9,088 ft). Temperatures can drop below 7 Celsius (45 F), and that doesn’t even factor in wind chill. It can get incredibly windy on the mountain peaks, and dry season is cooler than rainy season. However, you’ll only be chilly before sunrise. After that it warms up pretty quick, and the sun at this elevation is plenty strong.
