Meet your host
Meet Vivian and Jivan, the pioneers of the art of taxidermy in Singapore. From stunning bird displays to eye-catching mammal mounts, Their creations are both ethically sourced and visually captivating. Through their work, they're not only bringing a touch of nature into homes but also sparking conversations about conservation in a cool and unconventional way. Growing up in Ipoh, surrounded by animals in her backyard, Vivian has always loved animals and eventually studied zoology, and went on to work in animal conservation with WWF — both of which involved preserving animals for research. Soon, she discovered that her unique skill set, combined with her creative side, allowed her to honor animals in a way that’s unconventional yet beautiful. In these unique workshops, not only will you learn so much about animal anatomy — from fascinating wildlife facts to the complexities of how different species function — but you’ll also learn how to commemorate these animals, develop a deeper appreciation for them, and create a beautiful piece of art for yourself. And if you're thinking -- is this ethical? Vivian sources her specimens responsibly. Every specimen she works with is donated — from butterfly farms to wildlife centers, and even from the public. The focus is always on respecting animals and using preservation as a form of remembrance, never exploitation.
