Ultimate Indonesian road trip with breathtaking experiences.
This is the ultimate Indonesian road trip, packed with the kind of quirky, breathtaking experiences you won't find anywhere else. Picture this: cruising through Flores with a local host, you'll stop at villages known for their 'spider web' rice fields and meet farmers who'll show you their unique cultivation techniques. You'll explore traditional homes, meet a local king, and even stumble upon a beach where jet-black sand is scattered with mesmerizing blue stones. Of course, the highlight is hiking to the colorful crater lakes of Kelimutu volcano – a sight so unreal, you'll pinch yourself. What to expect:Agriculture with a twist: Explore villages like Melo and Cancar, where local farmers have perfected some truly unique agricultural practices.Iconic spider web fields: See their iconic "spider web" rice fields, a centuries-old method of fairly dividing the land when whole fields were too expensive for a single family – creating a sight found nowhere else on Earth!A step back in time: Visit the villages of Bena and Boawae, where traditional houses and a glimpse of the local king's home take you centuries back.Otherworldly nature: Nangapenda Beach will blow your mind – think black sand dotted with intensely blue stones.Volcanoes and vibrant lakes: Hike Kelimutu Hill to witness a breathtaking sunrise. The three vibrantly colored crater lakes are known to change hues depending on the conditions.Important Tips:Entrance fees may apply at some sites. It's best to carry some local currency. There's little hiking on this trip, except for a 30-40 minute easy hike at Kelimutu. Be prepared with comfortable walking shoes.
