Unforgettable 2D1N Mt Kinabalu with a Beginner-Friendly Via Ferrata
This takes you to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, and includes a beginner-friendly via ferrata activity (Walk the Torq) as well! So in addition to the Mt Kinabalu summit climb, you'll be doing a 1-2 via ferrata activity as well. You'll start your 2D1N adventure by ascending through beautiful changing forest landscapes up to Pendant Hut, your home for the night. Then, in the early hours, make your summit attempt with the ultimate goal of reaching Low's Peak (4095m asl) for a stunning sunrise over Borneo! But hold on, the adventure doesn't end there. After sunrise, you'll head to the start point of the Walk the Torq via ferrata activity and discover a whole different side of Mount Kinabalu, using a series of rungs, cables, bridges, and ladders drilled into the rock face. Experience via ferrata in all its glory with Rory and his crew of adrenaline experts. No experience necessary, just a head for heights, decent stamina, and a sense of adventure! What to ExpectBreathtaking sunrise views from Low's Peak, the highest point in Southeast AsiaA thrilling descent via the Walk the Torq via ferrata, with expert guides ensuring your safetyComfortable overnight stay at Pendant Hut, nestled amidst the stunning mountain sceneryWalk the Torq is an entry level Via Ferrata course and takes around 1.5 - 2 hours to complete.TipsBring appropriate hiking gear, including sturdy shoes, comfortable clothing, and a raincoatStay hydrated and bring plenty of water or electrolyte drinksBe prepared for changing weather conditions, as temperatures can drop significantly at higher altitudesBook your adventure in advance, especially during peak seasonAllow ample time for both the summit hike and the via ferrata activityAbout Walk the Torq Via FerrataLevel: Introductory, suitable for beginners seeking a taste of via ferrata excitement.Duration: Expect to add roughly 1-2 hours to your regular summit climb.Features: Experience cable bridges, balancing beams, and a Tyrolean traverse while enjoying stunning mountain views.Fitness: A moderate level of fitness is required, similar to the regular Mount Kinabalu climb. How to BookPlease indicate the date you would like to climb on the booking form. As all climbing permits are issued by Mount Kinabalu park, we will need to check the availability with Mount Kinabalu park before confirming your requested date.We will do our best to obtain your requested date. But if you have any flexibility in your dates, do let us know in the booking form and we can check those as well with the park.Only 160 permits are issued by the park each day, so we would recommend booking at least 3-4 months in advance for peak season (May to Aug), and 2-4 weeks in advance during off-season.As permits are issued by Mount Kinabalu park (and not us), any permits that have been issued are strictly non-refundable.
