Cook Thai Food in the Jungle Using Bamboo & Fire
Step back in time and learn how to cook the old-school way—over an open fire, using just bamboo. This isn't your typical cooking class. Here, you’ll be out in nature, cooking in the jungle, and making Thai dishes completely from scratch. No instant ingredients, no shortcuts—just fire, fresh herbs, and bamboo as your pots, plates, and utensils.Unlike standard cooking classes in a kitchen, this experience is all about learning survival-style techniques. You'll start by making your own coconut milk, picking fresh herbs and vegetables from the farm, and preparing rice wrapped in forest leaves to cook in bamboo tubes. Your host, Yoo, makes the experience even more special—he’s funny, full of stories about Khao Sok, and has deep knowledge of Thai herbs. If you enjoy learning from passionate locals and getting your hands dirty, you’ll love this. What to ExpectLearn traditional Thai jungle cooking techniques over an open fire.Make your own coconut milk and cook without modern kitchen tools.Use freshly picked herbs and vegetables straight from the farm.Prepare and enjoy dishes like Thai curries, tempuras, and stir-fried Pad Krapao.Cook rice in bamboo tubes and eat in an open space by the farm.Get fun and insightful stories from your host, Yoo, about Thai herbs and Khao Sok’s history.Good to KnowThis is an outdoor experience, so be prepared for a hands-on jungle setting. No prior cooking experience needed—just a love for food and adventure!Suitable for families, couples, and solo travellers who enjoy immersive cultural experiences.Vegetarian options are available—just let your host know in advance. The experience takes place at a farm near Khao Sok. Exact meeting details will be provided after booking. This is more of a cooking demonstration and immersing yourself in the environment, and less about cooking everything yourself from scratch!
