Wildlife, Art & Taxidermy: A Unique Hands-On Workshop
Taxidermy might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to appreciating wildlife, but this one-of-a-kind workshop will change the way you see nature. Led by Vivian, a zoologist and former WWF conservationist, this hands-on experience blends science, art, and a deep love for animals into something truly special. In this workshop, you'll learn fascinating insights about butterflies, moths, and beetles—how they live, why they matter, and their role in the ecosystem. Then, you’ll create your own beautifully preserved butterfly frame or dome, turning delicate specimens into art. Every butterfly is ethically sourced—donated by butterfly farms, research centres, or even the public—so this is a meaningful way to give these creatures a second life.If you're looking for a truly unique and meaningful experience in Singapore, this is it—where science, art, and conservation come together in the most unexpected way. Meet your host
Meet Vivian and Jivan, the duo behind Singapore’s first taxidermy workshops. Their work isn’t just about creating beautiful displays—it’s about honouring animals and sparking conversations about conservation in an unconventional way.
Vivian grew up in Ipoh, surrounded by animals, which led her to study zoology and work in conservation with WWF. There, she learned how preserving animals could be a way to study and appreciate them. Combining science with creativity, she now teaches others how to respectfully preserve specimens, from delicate butterflies to small mammals.
All specimens are responsibly sourced—from butterfly farms, wildlife centres, and even public donations—ensuring that every piece created is an ethical tribute to nature’s beauty.

Helpful Questions
I would like to sign up for Craft Your Own Nature's Art: Butterfly and Moth Taxidermy for 3 children (9 and 10 years old). There will be two adults accompanying. But we'll only need materials for the 3 children. Can we pay accordingly for 3 pax?
Lyann, 07 Mar 2025
Hi Lyann, thanks for reaching out! For this taxidermy workshop, the accompanying adults will need to pay 50% of the fee. :)
Hi. Just wondering possible to do it like father & daughter. My daughter is only 8 years old this year. I just need 1 butterfly dome will do. Mainly like a bonding session & is for my daughter mainly.
Farhan, 13 Feb 2025
Hi Farhan,
Yes, you can definitely join the workshop with your daughter! The second person will pay 50%, so the total for 1 butterfly dome will be $75 + $37.50 SGD, making it $112.50 for both of you.
I hope this clarifies things! Let me know if you have any further questions or would like to proceed with the booking. :)
I’m VERY interested in doing the butterfly taxidermy workshop. My husband and I land in Singapore on 23rd March and only have the afternoon free before we need to get on a train. Is there any chance the class could be run in the afternoon please?
Dora, 07 Feb 2025
