Enjoy Bali's most beautiful views, but without the crowds.
Forget the shoulder-to-shoulder scramble and tourist-swarmed crater. This isn't your average Mt Batur experience. Here, you'll embark on a unique adventure led by the coolest, most genuine guide you'll ever meet (check out the reviews, they speak for themselves!).Ditch the steep climb up Mt Batur and opt for a gentler trek, perfect for adventurers of all levels. You'll still reach a jaw-dropping caldera rim, but with breathtaking views without the crowd. As dawn paints the sky, you'll witness Mt Batur, Agung, and even Rinjani bathed in golden light – an unforgettable panorama that rivals any summit. But the magic doesn't stop there. Glide across the glassy surface of Lake Batur on a serene boat ride, the stars twinkling above and the cool air whispering promises of adventure. Feeling energized? You can either pamper yourself in the hotsprings overlooking the lake and volcanic mountains nearby in Kintamani or take a short boat ride to the Trunyan cemetery where you can learn about the villagers' unique "magic tree" burial traditions and get a glimpse into a way of life untouched by modern times! Here's what awaits you:Pick up: Convenient hotel pickup from Ubud or South Bali.Boat ride: Cross the tranquil Lake Batur as the stars fade and dawn approaches.Gentler trek: Conquer the caldera rim on a journey that's less strenuous than the Mt Batur trek, suitable for most fitness levels. (Anticipate some loose pebbles though!)Epic sunrise: Witness breathtaking views of volcanic peaks bathed in golden light.Optional add-ons: Explore Trunyan cemetery and unique burial culture or relax in a cozy hot spring.Local guide: Connect with a passionate Balinese who shares stories and insider tips, making your experience truly special.Private group: Enjoy a peaceful and intimate atmosphere, far from the crowded trails.Important reminders:Pack warm clothes for the early morning chill.Wear comfortable shoes with good traction. An open mind and sense of adventure are key!

Hi! Is it worth doing in December in the rain? We don’t mind getting wet, but are the views / scenery still good?
Bry, 09 Dec 2024
Yes, you can still do the Batur trekking in December. While it is the rainy season, the rain often clears by the afternoon. Even though you might get wet, the views and scenery can still be quite beautiful. However, please note that the weather can be unpredictable and it might affect the visibility of the views. If you don't mind the rain and are prepared for the conditions, it can still be a worthwhile experience.
Hi there, I have problems if the way down is very steep. Is that the case ? Any option of a lift way back ?
Mir, 28 Nov 2024
Hi Mir,
Thanks for reaching out! Just to clarify, this is the Caldera Trek, not the Mt Batur hike. Unlike the steep incline of Mt Batur, the Caldera Trek offers a gentler ascent, which is suitable for most fitness levels (about 45-60 minutes with beautiful jungle vegetation).
Unfortunately, we don’t provide a lift option for the trek. However, if you feel you might need assistance or have specific requirements, please let us know your group size and preferred date by emailing us at chat@seeksophie.com, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Hi, I am interested to join your hike but I am a solo traveler and the price for your one person hike is high. Is there a way to join a smaller group or another solo traveler for this hike?
Alex D, 21 Nov 2024
Hi Alex,
Thanks for reaching out! Could you please share the date you’re looking at for the hike at chat@seeksophie.com ? This will help me check with our host if there are any other solo travelers or smaller groups around that time.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
