Koman my guide, was proof that great knowledge and insights communicated clearly are far more compelling than being kept busy with a bike ride or a lunch ir a waterfall. Pure information without any distractions. Koman didn’t just merely recite some script but tether as the son of farmers, he shared the evolution of rice farming and the current challenges of allocation of water resources, pressures to convert rice fields to development , and issues of soil quality and pest control. If this sounds boring and academic, trust me, Koman articulated himself in an incredibly simple and accessible way. His info got me thinking not just listening! The scenery is of course beautiful. And no other tourists in sight!

It was raining heavily at original start time and they were very accommodating- moved the time until after the rain had stopped. Kaden Argus was a very knowledgeable and patient guide- highly recommend.

We had a wonderful half day walking through the kampungs and rice fields around Senaru. Yumi and Malai were wonderful guides who were happy to share their knowledge on the culture, flora and fauna of the region. We finished up with a visit to a beautiful waterfall but the absolute highlight for us had to be having a delicious dinner of local dishes (the tempeh was wonderful) while sat in a farmers bamboo shack in the middle of the rice terraces. Definitely recommend the walk and Rinjani women adventure we will definitely use them again when we next back in Lombok - perhaps we will do the volcano next time!!
