Weligama rests at the very bottom of the teardrop-shaped Sri Lankan island, in the center of Weligama Bay. The vibe here is relaxed and playful, with extremely friendly locals and beginner and advanced surfers from all over the world. Spend an idyllic week here working on your surfing skills in the bay, or enjoying your yoga practice on the beach.
After months of lockdown in Sri Lanka, operations in Weligama have resumed under strict health guidelines that visitors must follow. Domestic travellers and ex-pats living in Sri Lanka are allowed to visit Weligama for surfing and yoga.
Sri Lanka is expecting to open borders to international travellers from August 1, 2020. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates if the opening date were to change.
