Day 1: Arrival in Yuksom

Get to know you fellow trekkers

  • Sikkim Trails Yuksom Office (Yuksom, Sikkim 737113, India) - 08:00am
  • Today is Day 0 of the expedition.
  • Meet in a village and get to know each other.
  • Visit the beautiful monastery around the village.
Day 2: Yuksom (1720m) - Tshoka (2957m)

Trek through the Kanchenjunga National Park and enjoy Mt Pandim views from Tshoka dominate.

  • Start from Yuksom and enter the Kanchenjunga National Park.
  • Cross the rhododendron forests, Tibetan bridges and green forests.
  • Rest and lunch at Sachen
  • Reach Bhakim, a nice tea house with views of the Yuksom Valley
  • Arrive in Tshoka
Day 3: Tshoka (2957m) - Dzongri (3970m)

Ascend about 1000m today but remember to not rush your acclimatization

  • The trail today is steep but you will be accompanied by the rhododendrons.
  • Catch a glimpse of Mt Pandim occasionally as you trek.
Day 4: Dzogri Top and Acclimatization

Catch sunrise from Dzongri Top

  • Sikkim Trails Yuksom Office (Yuksom, Sikkim 737113, India) - 08:00am
  • Dzongri is a 2-hill climb, which takes 45-60 minutes.
  • Take it easy and acclimatize to the altitude.
Day 5: Dzongri (3970m) - Tshoka (2957m)

Trek back the same way you came from!

  • While the trail is the same, the decend is equally steep.
  • Take extra caution and be careful not to overload your knees
Day 6: Tshoka (2957m) - Yuksom (1720m)

A pure descent of about 6 hours.

  • This descend will be less challenging than the way up.
  • Note: If you are on time, feel free to stop for a refreshing "shower" in one of the beautiful natural pool near the entrance of the National Park.
  • Lodging and transportation can be arranged but be sure to inform early.

Sikkim Trails is a local and young trekking and touring company; they're very cool, work mostly with international travellers and are extremely professional. They are from Yuksom and specializes in the organization of trekking expeditions in the Yuksom area, the most known being the Goechala Pass trek​​​​​​​ and Dzongri Top ​​​​​​​trek. They also offer trekking in West Bengal also, such as the popular Sandakphu trek.

Usual Cancellation Policy (for Non-Covid reasons)
Cancel for free 7 days before your trip starts. Cancellations after such date will not be eligible for refunds as Sikkim Trails would have paid for your trip’s logistics already.
