Taroko Gorge with its plunging marble canyons, precarious bridges, narrow tunnels and twisting trails, is the most beautiful and accessible national park in Taiwan. If you want to get off the beaten path into the wild, take the Lushui-Wenshan Trail, and for the best views take the challenging Zhuilu Old Trail. You’ll need permits to hike so do get a guide.
June to October is the typhoon season in Taiwan, with July to September offering the most activities to experience. The months with the rainiest days are in plum rain season in May and June while thundershower mostly came in the afternoons in summer
