Any tips for what to do in the area?
Check out the nearby towns like Pelling and Yuksom at the foothills of Mount Khangchendzonga. Pelling is home to the late-17th-century Buddhist Sanga Choling Monastery. The Pemayangtse Monastery features wall paintings, sculptures and a gold-plated statue of Guru Padmasambhava. It also overlooks the 17th-century Rabdentse Palace, now in ruins, still has evidence of the king’s bedroom and kitchen. Yuksom was the first capital of Sikkim and home to the Dubdi Monastery built during 1701, which is part of the Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit. Be sure to check out nature's wonder, Khecheopalri Lake and Kanchenjunga Falls, surrounding the town of Yuksom as well!
