Kandy is surrounded by mountain ranges and lush green tea estates. Here, you can learn about how the tea industry has shaped the lives of generations of Sri Lankans since 1867, immerse yourself in the Sri Lankan tradition of picking and brewing tea leaves, and simply enjoy the quiet.
After months of lockdown in Sri Lanka, operations in Kandy have resumed under strict health guidelines that visitors must follow. Domestic travellers and ex-pats living in Sri Lanka are currently allowed to visit Kandy Tea Estate.
Sri Lanka is expecting to open borders to international travellers from August 1, 2020. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates if the opening date were to change.
